THE 2017/2018 SEASON
This fall, Colin will be joining Opera Atelier for a double bill of Charpentier’s Actéon & Rameau’s Pygmalion in Toronto which will be travelling to Chicago’s Harris Theater and to the Palace at Versailles. He also makes his role debuts as Alfredo in Pacific Opera Victoria’s La Traviata and the title role in Mozart’s Idomeneo with Opera Atelier. He will also be Artist-in-Residence with Opera Atelier for the 2018/19 season! Check out his SCHEDULE for further information and other performances.
A new recording of the music of Derek Holman has just been released! This new CD comprises of pieces written specifically for Colin Ainsworth as early as 2004 to most recently in 2012. A Lasting Spring (2004) and The Death of Orpheus (2005) were commissioned by and performed with the Aldeburgh Connection in their recital series. The second piece, The Death of Orpheus, was also performed at the Nikki Goldschmidt memorial concert given at Roy Thompson Hall. The most recent composition, A Play of Passion (2012) was requested by Mr. Ainsworth himself. Also on the disc, is the Variations on a Melody by Doctor Arne (1999) for two pianos featuring Bruce Ubukata and Stephen Ralls. Check out the ON DISC page for more info and other new recordings!
